Photographs capture the essential elements that allow you to remember the special moments as well as the every day events that make up the history of a human life. There are more ways to produce a photographic image now than ever before. You may have a "point-and-shoot" camera, a digital camera, a 35mm SLR or you may opt to use single-use (disposable) cameras. The camera you choose to use can be important, but just as important, if not more so, is the proper use of the camera that you have. Have you ever been to visit someone and they ask you if you want to see their photos? Sometimes you get pleasantly surprised and the composition of the photograph is great. The subjects are well framed, the lighting is good and the subject matter is easily distinguished. Other times, you are left wondering what in the world the person was trying to capture in their photographs. When you take a photograph, you do so expressly to rekindle the emotions and feelings that are taking place at that instant. When your 2nd grader wins the spelling bee, you want to remember the excitement and joy forever. You press the button releasing the shutter and the moment is captured. You and your best friend take a vacation to the beach and the sunset is worth more in your heart than the 1,000 words the picture will ever convey, but you point, shoot and keep a piece of time locked away forever. Scrapbook photography is about all of that and even moreIn the days and weeks ahead, we will be posting photography ideas, tips and solutions to help you make the most of the photo opportunities that come your way. We will also discuss various camera types and the benefits and issues of each. Our goal is to make scrapbook photography as easy as possible so that you can focus on creating those delightful layouts. |
