Organizing Your Scrapbooking Room

Need help with your Scrapbooking Room? Here are a few helpful tips to get you organized...

With all the various scrapbooking papers, tools and embellishments on the market today, it is easy to see how your craft space can become overrun. We know room can be a challenge to organize. Organizing can be especially difficult for scrappers who live in a small space, such a dorm or apartment. However, there are a few steps that can help to make your rooms clean, organized and beautiful. Your room can easily be overrun by paper. You will probably spend most of your time and effort trying to organize your scrapbooking papers. A paper saver is a great option for organizing all of your scrapbooking papers. Many of the large scrapbooking companies make a paper saver, which is usually made of plastic. The paper saver will store your papers in categories, making it easy to access the right paper, for the right job. If Your rooms do not have enough space for a paper saver, you might want to consider purchasing a filing cabinet that are made especially for scrapbooking.

Another challenge to organizing your room is what to do with all of the tools and embellishments. Since embellishments and tools cannot easily be filed, organizing them can be quite a challenge. However, one great way of organizing your tools is to use a shelving unit and baskets. You can store glues in one basket, cutting tools in another, and markers in yet another. If you buy baskets in bulk, you are more likely to save more, versus using photo boxes. By using baskets, the display will be attractive and look very uniform. In order to save yourself time, be sure to label the baskets.

However, if you live in tight quarters, a shelving unit and baskets may not be the ideal solution. Instead, make a kit of the items you use the most often. You can use a tote bag or basket to keep the items close at hand. Then, you can store the remainder of the tools away.

A computer armoire makes a great storage space in scrapbooking rooms. Scrapbooking furniture is often hard to come by. However, converting a cabinet to your specific needs will help with organizational challenges. An armoire gives scrapbookers plenty of room to organize tools, embellishments and paper.

Organizing scrapbooking rooms can be a fun and rewarding experience. By organizing your room, you can save yourself valuable scrapbooking time. Be sure to label all of your storage containers. Doing so will allow you to quickly find exactly what you are looking for. Organized scrapbooking rooms make all of the difference in one's ability to sit down and scrapbook.
